Omega Geneve "Integrated" Ref. 136.0049 (Circa 1972)

WHY WE CURATED IT:
Geneve models are some of the best value Omegas. Initially a flagship dress line in the 50s, Geneves took a backseat in the 60s as Speedmasters/Seamasters rose to fame. But Omega kept iterating, bringing affordability to wrists without compromising mechanical quality. By the late 60s-70s, they experimented with various shapes and formats. Like this tonneau model, styled after integrated bracelet watches that were coming into vogue. Love the simplicity of this silhouette, the brutalist/industrial styling, and the monochromatic colourway. A key feature specific to this reference is that while it has the integrated look (not unlike a Royal Oak or VC 222), it actually has regular lugs for more versatility, whether for straps or straight-end bracelets. Equipped with a respected and robust Omega Cal. 613 from the revered 6xx series. Dripping with wabi-sabi vintage charm!

CONDITION:
8.5/10, with signs of honest careful use, well preserved overall. Crystal has microscopic marks along some of the edges and dial/hands/indices have slight signs of aging but very charming as a result, befitting a watch over half a century old! Tritium lume plots intact and respond to UV correctly for age. Original signed crown. New aftermarket strap and buckle. Movement in good health with near-spec power reserve, good amplitude, low beat error and accurate to 15 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
